Our current product line starts with the B-13 hydraulic walk-behind trencher, now available with a Kohler 360cc high-torque engine. The B-13 features hydraulic ground drive, infinite travel speed adjustment, locking wheel hubs, hydraulic boom lift and a true headshaft outer support bearing. Next is our B-16 walk-behind, with hydrostatic ground and chain drive and hydraulic steering, it is truly a smooth machine. The 16 horsepower Onan engine packs plenty of power with a two-speed transaxle for quick transport and efficient trenching speeds. The B-16 is the only model in its class to offer an optional backfill blade.
Burkeen’s B-30B is a combination trencher, vibratory plow and rotary boring unit with a 37 horsepower Hatz air-cooled diesel. With the growth of the irrigation market, it pays to have a machine in your rental fleet that can work in residential applications with minimal turf damage.
Our largest model, the B-36B hydrostatic riding trencher, takes on the toughest trenching jobs and comes back asking for more. One of the outstanding features of the Burkeen B-36B is that it has more horsepower (46 net) than any other trencher in its class. More horsepower means that the engine is under less strain on the tough jobs, for less wear and longer life of the machine. Our rental customers in Colorado and Texas’ tough digging conditions can testify to this. Optional backhoe, boring unit and vibratory plow attachments make the B-36B a versatile workhorse.
Over the years we have listened and incorporated design changes to suit the needs of the changing construction market. In September 1999 we introduced the B-30B vibratory plow to the utility market and we’ll have more product introductions to come in 2000 and beyond. We look forward to meeting your underground needs in the next millennium.
